Sarah Mailloux Class of 2013
Sarah graduated from Torrington High School in 2013. While at THS, she was involved in the Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Chamber Choir, and the theatre program. Sarah went on to continue her studies at the University of Delaware, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations in 2016, and a Master of Science in International Business in 2018. Through her time at UD, her research focused on the international political economy. Sarah also holds minors in Legal Studies and Asian Studies. She is currently working on her MBA and is interested in pursuing a PhD in the future.
While at UD, Sarah continued her musical passions playing trumpet in the University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hen Marching Band. She also participated in the Symphonic Band on French Horn, the Pep Band on Mellophone, and was a Soprano in the university’s Schola Cantorum Choir. She also participated in the Trumpet Ensemble and French Horn Ensemble groups at UD. She was the Social Chair for Sigma Alpha Iota, an International Music Fraternity, which allowed her to remain close with many other individuals who were passionate about music.
Sarah has over five years of work experience and currently works at the Delaware Small Business Development Center, within the University of Delaware’s Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships. In her free time, she is an avid reader, fitness class fanatic, and an aspiring world traveler.
Most importantly, she remembers her years at THS fondly. “Being part of the THS marching band was the highlight of my years in high school. This organization has taught me so much about music, about friendship, and about myself. I continue to think back on the amazing memories I made at THS and how I would not be where I am today without this organization. THS Marching Band truly is the Pride of Torrington – I am beyond proud to tell others about the organization I came from and always enjoy looking at how it continues to grow.”
