Playing Tests
Band, Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra Playing Tests for the 2011-2012 School Year.
Playing test information will be emailed home, handouts will be available in the band room, posted on this website and in CHARMS.
Three (3) ways you can complete your playing test
1. Schedule a time and come play for me.
2. Record yourself using CHARMS Recording Studio (see below)
3. Record yourself using other audio recording software.
Playing Test Procedure.
You can take the playing test as many times as you want before the due date.
I will take the highest grade
All playing tests are due by 2:06pm on the due date. No exceptions.

Torrington High School Band Playing Tests
Band Playing Test for Quarter 3 will include:
1. Handout from CHARMS “Band Playing Test Folder”
I will pick two scales from the top of the page plus the Etude only
2. Selected parts from American Salute
Flutes, Clarinets, Oboe, Mallets – Pickup to 107 – 129
All Saxophones – 129 – 150
All Brass – 81 – 103
Snare – 20-37, 102-115
Percussion – you will have the choice of picking one of the two options.

*All freshman/beginners and students that have switched to new instruments must play for me.
No recorded playing tests will be accepted.*

Torrington High School Orchestra Playing Test
Orchestra Playing Test for Quarter 3 will include
1. GMajor and DMajor Scales
2. Selected Etude in CHARMS
3. Mock Morris
Violins and Cello – 41 – 53
Bass – 61 – End
