Audio Effects – Signal Processing

Audio Effects can be grouped into two categories  - gain based and time based

Gain Based Effects alter he gain or volume in the signal
Time Based Effects alter the length of the signal

Types of Audio Effects

Reverberation (Reverb)
Electronically simulates room sizes.  Large Hall, Medium Hall, etc

Delay
Delay -is used to layer notes.

Multi-Tap Delay
Adds taps to create a layering effect

Ping Pong Delay
Ping Pong Delay produces a bouncing sound

Flanging
Creates a Whooshing or Jet Airplane effect

Chorus
Adds layers of the same signal on top of each other to create a thick sound
