The Torrington High School Music Department is "The Pride of Torrington"! THS Music offers 11 courses the most of any high school in Litchfield County! From Award-Winning performing ensembles, Music Theory, History of Popular Music to a nationally recognized Music Technology program THS has something for everyone!

2019 the Torrington High School Band was selected through a blind audition process to perform at the Connecticut Music Educators Association All-State Conference.

The Torrington Public Schools have been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in America for 2023. Torrington has received this national designation twenty-three times since 2000. This makes Torrington the most recognized for Music Education in Connecticut

Torrington High School Music Technology has been nationally recognized as a model program for the implementation of technology into the music curriculum.  THS has been featured in numerous magazines, music education websites, and featured presentations at Music Education Conferences throughout the United States.   More than 67 schools from across the country use the THS Music Technology website as a supplement to their curriculums.
