THS  - Festival Sweepstakes and Instrumental Sweepstakes Winner 2008 Heritage Music Festival Philadelphia

The Torrington High School Orchestra is the oldest performing ensemble at Torrington High School. Started in the late 1890's the Orchestra has a rich history of musical excellence.  In 2000 the Orchestra was selected to perform at the Olympic Games in Sydney Australia.  The Orchestra has also received numerous 1st Place Awards in Williamsburg, VA and Boston, MA.  Recently the Orchestra has premiered "Vision for String Orchestra and Percussion" by Connecticut Composer Timothy Wallace and performs annually with the Torrington Symphony.
