60 Years of the Torrington High School Band 
1948-2008

2008 will mark the 60th Anniversary of the THS BAND.  
The band is looking for any band memorabilia.

Jackie Tribou 2006 (Tuba) - I was one of the two people to receive the "Outstanding Freshman Award." This award was chosen by all the teachers, they consider everything, including my art work, work ethic, personality, ....everything. Not only did I get a nice certificate stating the award, I also get to have the first exhibition in the gallery at my school showing all of my freshman work. Jackie is attending Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, NY

Anita Magistrali 2006 French Horn/Guard - July-November 2007 ill be working at Sun River Resort in Sun River, Oregon. I return to school in December and graduate with an associates degree July 5th 2008. Anita is attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York

Lucia Marconi 2006 Euphonium - has her own radio show at Boston University. Lucia is a member of the  Pep Band at Boston University, Boston MA

Justin McManus 2006 Bassoon/DM -was recently elected as the fine arts senator to the Undergraduate Student Government SenateI also joined the UCMB recruiting committee, and I’m freshman representative in the MENC UConn Chapter. Justin is majoring in Music Education at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. 

Emily Dixon 2006 Orch/Guard was the Sound Board Operator for Keene State's first production of the season "Crimes of the Heart".

Jessica Sultaire 2006 Guard/Trombone -was elected to the Student Senate at Roger Williams University. Bristol, Rhode Island

Jesse Engle 2006 Percussion - is attending Central Connecticut State University. Jesse is a member of the CCSU Big Band and Jazz Combo. Jesse is majoring in Jazz Studies. 

AJ Moran 2006 Trumpet - has joined the Northeastern University Pep Band.

Brandan Holbrook 2005 Trumpet - Received the rank of Eagle Scout in an August 2006 ceremony.
Brandon is also a member of the Northeastern University Pep Band.

Tim Ness 2005 Trombone - has joined the Muhlenberg College Jazz Ensemble.  Muhlenberg College Allentown, PA.

Karl Schwirz 2005  - Alto Sax - in the fall of 2006 will be attending the University of Connecticut - Storrs. Karl will also be a member of the UCONN Marching Band.

Cheryl Lounsbury - 2004 Flute - I recently got engaged!! 

Melissa Abeling 2004 - Clarinet - Is graduating from the University of Hartford in December 2007 and will be starting her doctorate degree in physical therapy at the University of Hartford. AND I got engaged on December 8th!!! He asked me to marry him under the tree at Rockefeller Center.

Dan Rousseau  - 2004 - Percussion - I designed my first Main stage production last fall called Restoration Comedy. It was a great success and I enjoyed every minute of it. Following that, I assisted a lighting designer on the CT opera production of Carmen. This spring, I will be working again in Hartford with the Opera as well as working at school and traveling down to NYC. Dan is attending the University of Connecticut majoring  in lighting design.  Check out Dan's website 

Ashley Lockwood - 2004 - Trombone - has become the sister of the honorary band service sorority Tau Beta Sigma. She also is the 2006 University of Connecticut Marching Band social coordinator and trombone section leader. 

Adam Peacock 2004 Bassoon is taking ballroom dancing at UCONN. Yes this is correct!  Picture Adam dancing!!! Sorry Adam but I told you I would add this!! 

Rebecca Scoville 2004 - Flute - has audition for and made the Western New England College Concert Band. Rebecca is majoring in Elementary Education. 

Michele Zordan  2004 - French Horn - is a member of the Central Connecticut State University Marching Band. Michele is majoring in Music Education

Neal Lima 2004 - Baritone - has become a brother of the honorary music service fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi.

David Leisten 2003 Percussion  is a member of the University of Connecticut Marching band where he has served as Section Leader for the past 3 years and currently is the Alumni Liaison to the UCMB Band Council and is an active member and current President of the Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Music Service Sorority at UConn.  David will be graduating in December of 2007 with a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Sociology.  

Amorette Languell 2003 (Clarinet/Bari Sax)-has graduated from Central Connecticut State University and is currently teaching K-8 general, instrumental, and vocal music at New Beginnings Family Academy (www.nbfacademy.org) in Bridgeport.  She is also a marching and music tech for the Brookfield High School Marching Band.  Amorette will also be marching her 4th season on baritone with the Connecticut Hurricanes who placed 7th at the Drum Corp Association World Championships Labor Day weekend.  Amorette has just been names "Hurricane" of the Year by the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corp

Karey Eschenbrenner 2003 Bassoon/DM is an Autistic Support teacher for the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13.  I will be working at Garden Spot Middle School in New Holland, Pennsylvania. 

Katie Patnoe 2003 -Flute - I started my internship at the New Britain Courthouse this week. I graduate from Central Connecticut State University in May 2007

Sarah Powell 2003 - French Horn/Chorus is president of the CCSU Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Sarah is a music education major at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. 

Megan Waters 2003 Euphonium/Percussion has joined the crew team at Simmons College Boston, Massachusetts

Brian McCauley - 2002 - Alto Sax - I Graduated from Springfield College with my Masters in Physical Therapy in May and Passed my national boards Last month.  I have also started a Health and Sports Nutrition business.    

Ann Talbot 2002 - Guard  - is engaged!!! 

Stacey Austin 2002 (Flute) - Just finished boot camp for the United States Naval Academy and is now stationed in Norfolk, Virginia aboard an aircraft carrier. While at boot camp Stacey played in the Navy Band.

Jin Shin 2002 (Flute) is now engaged! Congrats Jin!

Allen McClure 2002 Percussion - has just completed Airman Leadership School  and won the Academic award for overall highest grades, and the Distinguished Graduate award for performance and leadership skills.  Allen is a member of the United States Air Force

Ryan McGurk 2002 Trumpet -  I have a job making a indie monster movie with a guy in Avon.  His production co. is called SPECTREUSA. I'm The Camera man, sound and lighting tech.

Jon Wing 2002 Trumpet - I graduated from Harvard in June 2006 (degree in Biology) and am currently working as an 8th grade science teacher in an urban Philadelphia middle school through the Teach For America program. The website is at www.teachforamerica.org -

Tim Croce 2001 - Trombone - is engaged!!

Casey Kasenetz 2001 French Horn -  Graduated from Quinnipiac University and is now a Nurse in the Emergency Department (Room) at The Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General

Jennifer Owen 2001 - Trombone is now working for the Litchfield Jazz Festival.

Abbey Downing 2001- French Horn -  is now engaged! Congrats Abbey!

Robert Amoroso 2001 - Percussion - is attending Central Connecticut State University and is working at InterGis as tech support

Jessica Vassak 2001 - Clarinet/DM is now working for John Hancock Insurance and Financial Services of Boston, Boston, Massachusetts. 

Susan Grgach (2001) Flute/Guard is now Reservations Supervisor Doubletree Guest Suites Waltham, Massachusetts

Ashley Groody 2001 - Percussion -is presently teaching Music at the Hartford Arts Magnet Middle School. 

Chong Kim  2001 - Flute - Is presently interning for Residential Education for New York University and living in Manhattan for the summer!!

Kale Williams 2001 - Tuba -  was married to Melissa Gonzalez on Saturday November 29, 2003 at Heritage United Pentecostal Church, Bristol, Connecticut. The couple resides in Torrington, Connecticut.

Shannon Garves 2000 - Guard - was recently promoted to Correctional Counselor at Carl Robinson Correctional Institution. AND I'm engaged and getting married in June 08!

Tom Leisten 2000 (Percussion) is presently a math teacher at Glastonbury High School, Glastonbury, CT

Amanda Marchetti 2000 Guard - graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a BA in Communications specializing in public relations and promotions and a graduate of the honors program.

Tammie Garrison (2000) Guard is now working for Nortel Networks  www.nortel.com.located in NewJersey as a sales engineer. 

Rebecca (Melancon) McElwee 2000 Guard - was married to Michael McElwee on July 29, 2006. Congratulations Becky!!!.  Becky is an English teacher at Bristol Eastern High School in Bristol, CT.

Shawn McCauley 2000 Trumpet - I graduated Uconn in 2005 with a degree in Illustration.  and i presently work part time for Travelers Insurance  and the rest of my time i spend drawing a comic book for a small publisher out of the UK. Courtney Brock - Chorus - is presently teaching music at the Greater Hartford Classical Magnet - Hartford, Connecticut

R.J. Avallone 1999 works in New York City and his band has just recorded their first CD. More information to come. 

Kathleen McGurk 1999 - Flute - is presently living in Boston and working as a Kindergarten teacher in the Framingham Massachusetts Public Schools.

Erica (Marine) Haraldsen 1999 - Flute - Received her Master's Degree in Education and is moving to Virginia.  

Ken Bosley 1998 Trumpet - has moved to Rhode Island and is working for Amgen (#1Biotech in the world).

Kellie (Downing) McInchak 1998 - Clarinet - Is a music teacher at Western High School in Parma, Michigan.
