Welcome to the Torrington High School Music Department
The Torrington High School Music Department is the “Pride of Torrington.”
Over the years THS has received numerous local, state and national honors and awards.
Recent highlights include the THS Chamber Choir’s invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall 2010 & 2011. The 2011 THS Jazz Ensemble I received “Best Ensemble” at the University of Massachusetts High School Jazz Festival.
In 2010 the “Pride of Torrington” Marching Band was the New England representative in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC.
Torrington, Connecticut selected as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in America for 2011, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 – the most of any Community in Connecticut.
The THS Music Technology has been recognized by TI:ME, Education World.com, Roland Corp, Soundtree and other as a model program. THS Music Technology lessons have been featured in MENC publications, TI:ME Website, I.T. Link Magazine and are used by K-12 and University Programs around the World.
Tiana DeLorge represents THS in New Englands!
Tiana DeLorge (Chorus) has beee selected to represent Torrington High School in the New England Music Festival Chorus in March 2012!
